Battery Safety Notice
1. General Safety Information
Lithium battery systems contain high-energy electrical components and must be handled, transported, installed, stored, and operated with care.
Improper handling, installation, operation, storage, or maintenance may result in:
• Electric shock
• Fire hazards
• Explosion risks
• Severe overheating
• Chemical leakage
• Serious personal injury
• Property damage
Always read and follow the manufacturer’s installation manuals, safety instructions, operating guidelines, and applicable local electrical regulations before using the product.
2. Professional Installation Recommended
All battery systems sold by E2C-shop should be installed by a qualified electrician or certified installer in accordance with applicable local regulations and manufacturer instructions.
Improper installation may:
• Damage the battery system
• Void manufacturer warranty coverage
• Create serious safety risks
• Cause electrical failure or fire hazards
• Result in non-compliance with local regulations
E2C-shop and E2C B.V. are not responsible for damages, losses, or safety incidents caused by incorrect installation, misuse, unauthorized modifications, or failure to follow manufacturer instructions.
3. Transportation & Storage
Lithium batteries are classified as regulated goods for transportation and require careful handling.
When handling or storing battery systems:
• Keep batteries in a dry, clean, and well-ventilated environment
• Avoid direct sunlight and excessive heat
• Protect against water, condensation, and moisture
• Keep away from flammable or combustible materials
• Store within the temperature range specified by the manufacturer
• Avoid physical impacts, crushing, or vibration
• Do not stack heavy objects on battery packages
• Ensure adequate clearance and ventilation around stored batteries
Do not install or operate battery systems in unsuitable, enclosed, poorly ventilated, high-humidity, or high-temperature environments.
Damaged battery packaging or products should be inspected immediately.
Damaged, leaking, swollen, overheated, or unstable batteries should be isolated immediately from flammable materials and handled only by qualified professionals.
4. Do Not Disassemble or Modify
Do not:
• Open or disassemble battery systems
• Puncture, crush, drop, or deform battery products
• Modify connectors, wiring, firmware, or protective systems
• Attempt unauthorized repairs
• Expose batteries to fire or extreme heat
• Place metal objects on battery terminals
• Bypass safety protection systems
Unauthorized modifications or misuse may result in:
• Fire
• Explosion
• Electric shock
• Toxic gas release
• Permanent product damage
• Serious injury
Improper use, unauthorized modifications, or operation outside manufacturer specifications may void warranty coverage.
Keep battery systems away from children, pets, and unauthorized persons.
5. Charging & Operation Safety
Only use:
• Compatible inverters
• Approved chargers
• Manufacturer-recommended accessories
• Approved communication cables and components
Do not operate the battery system if:
• The product is physically damaged
• There is unusual odor, smoke, heat, or noise
• The battery has been exposed to water
• Warning alarms or fault codes appear
• Swelling or leakage is observed
• The battery casing is cracked or damaged
Immediately disconnect the system where safe to do so and contact qualified professionals if abnormal conditions occur.
6. Emergency Situations
In the event of:
• Smoke
• Fire
• Overheating
• Swelling
• Liquid leakage
• Electrical malfunction
• Burning smell
Immediately:
• Stop using the system
• Disconnect power if safe to do so
• Keep away from the battery system
• Evacuate the area if necessary
• Contact emergency services if a fire or serious hazard occurs
Use only appropriate fire extinguishing equipment suitable for electrical or lithium battery fires where applicable.
Never attempt to open, cool, or move a burning or damaged battery system unless instructed by emergency professionals.
7. Disposal & Recycling
Lithium batteries must not be disposed of with household waste.
Battery systems should be disposed of in accordance with:
• Local environmental regulations
• Recycling requirements
• Hazardous waste handling regulations
• Manufacturer disposal guidelines
Improper disposal may create environmental hazards, fire risks, or legal violations.
Customers are responsible for arranging compliant disposal or recycling where required.
8. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, E2C-shop and E2C B.V. shall not be liable for damages, injuries, losses, or incidents caused by:
• Improper installation
• Misuse of battery products
• Unauthorized repairs or modifications
• Failure to follow manufacturer instructions
• Improper transportation or storage
• Incompatible equipment or system configuration
• Failure to comply with local regulations
• Environmental conditions outside manufacturer specifications
This limitation includes indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages where permitted by applicable law.
9. Applicable Law
This Battery Safety Notice shall be governed by the laws of the Netherlands.
Mandatory consumer protection rights under applicable European laws remain unaffected.
